(Remote update) Good morning from Hutchinson Island Florida. Up early to check out the surf and erosion from the overnight high tides. A good chunk of the beaches have been damaged and large sections have been washed out to the sea, likely creating sand bars just offshore. It will take some time for this sand to filter back in once the winds and surf come down.

The winds still 20 knots with higher gusts and this long wind fetch will continue to keep the sea’s high through monday. I’m going to check out a few other locations this morning before heading home for some sunday FOOTABLL!. HA! Heard of some coastal flooding from the waves south into Martin County and know of a few places that sit way to close to the ocean. I’ll post more photo’s if I come across anything worth posting.

In Other Weather News:   The Miami National Weather Service office, released a EL Nino statement on friday about the up coming El Nino winter and spring here in Florida. Tomorrow I’ll post the statement and some graphics as the active severe storm winter season is forecast and more rainfall as El Nino pushes the southern Jet Stream south over Florida. This helps to bring low pressure storm systems across Florida bring severe storms and tornadoes. More to come on this in better detail.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend where ever you might be today. Cya!
