Woke up this morning to temperatures in the upper 30s here at my home. The rest of the state saw temps in the mid 30s in north Florida to the lower 40s for South Florida. Strong cold air advection still underway over the state and will continue well into tonight. Gale center now alive off the northeast Florida coast helping to produce some winter precipitation in the Carolina’s this morning and rough surf along the east coast of the US.
Very dry airmass in place over Florida now with dewpoints in the 30s helping to produce small brush fires like the one I came across yesterday while on the road. There was a few other known brush fires in Broward County, Fl as well on monday, but no threat to any structures.
Today I’ll be out shooting video and photo of the 60F high temp day here in FL, which is well below normal. Windy, cold and dry is the game today here and it will make for some fun shooting segments today. Im also awaiting the large surf to develop from the gale center and affect our local beaches soon.
Ok… off to get some coffee and hit the road…. I’ll also be in Miami today, which explains my short post this morning with my little time left before I need get out of here. More later this evening.
