Florida snow flurries on radar

Reports have been coming into the National Weather Service offce in Melbourne Florida that light snow flurries have been falling over the last few hours at times. There is currenly a wind surge moving down the northern Central spin of the state with a area of very light precipitation. Snow flurries reported in a few counties just north of Orlando, Florida.

Gale center continues to slowly drift slightly north-northeast off the Carolina’s coastline. Heavy precipitation falling over the mid- Atlantic states with flood warnings and coastal flooding and high surf problems as well. ThIs should continue into late tomorrow evening. Currently wind chill advisories are in affect for much of the east coast of Florida with temperatures to dip into the lower and mid 30s in the north and central part of the state and lower upper 30s to lower 40s for south Florida. Many temperature records are on the line tonight of being tied or broken as the cold air advection continues overnight.

I’ll monitor the radars and will invest any precipitation that makes it south of Orlando, if any, as the current radar trends show the precipitation not making past Orlando at this time. This could change later. This has turned into a wild November cold event and more than expected precip wise. I know here at my home we never hit 63F today and fell fast once the sun went down. Windy and cold here tonight, which made for a nice evening with a fire and watching “House” and having some pizza.

Might have a late post for tomorrow as I will be busy for the first part of the day with pre-Thanksgiving errands.

Night,
