GFS Develops Weak Low Pressure This Weekend In Gulf

Good morning — Sorry for the non post monday. I was tired from the weekend and had to be up early on monday for business and did not put aside any time for me to post.

So!  The lastest GFS computer model continues to develop a weak area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico this late thursday night into friday, that is forecast to bring “Florida” very much needed rainfall. If we can get some good instability, along with some moderate wind profiles, there might be a chance of some isolated rotating storms on friday…one can hope! Will have to wait and see on the models trend towards the weekend.. Trust me…I’ll be watching closely.

This could be the first El Nino type system to develop this winter season for us. El Nino helps to increase precipitation and storm systems to develop along the sub-tropical jet in the southern United States and Florida. Although this low pressure area looks to be weak, it still looks to bring a nice amount of rain to Florida.

You can research more about Florida weather and El Nino here.

I’m going to to try and have another post this afternoon covering another “Moments in Chasing“. but I first have several errands to complete. Have a good tuesday and I’ll check in later today.
