Pre-frontal line of storms came through here early this morning, bringing heavy rains and lightning. Woke up to rolling thunder, which was nice to wake up to. The current front is to stall just north of here and lift back north tomorrow as a warm front ahead of the new low development in the Gulf of Mexico. (I’ll have watch this boundary tomorrow for possible storms)

This low is to track northeast towards the Florida Panhandle and Georgia on Christmas Eve and Day. A cold front expected to extend southward along the west coast of Florida were a possible potent squall line could develop, with embedded short-lived supercells and some line segments. Going to try and squeeze in some chasing between early Christmas morning present activities, lunch plans in Boynton Beach, FL and then Dinner plans in Boca Raton, FL.

So, my Christmas Eve and Day should be action packed with family, friends and maybe a few impressive storms. Heck, if it’s only a beefy squall line, I’ll be happy. All I want for Christmas is some deep convection. Play with. :-P

I will have a better handle on the setup tomorrow once this surface low starts to take shape. I’ll keep you updated over the weekend.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all,
