It’s been one mild winter here in Florida and this past weekend was so awesome. We enjoyed full sun and blue skies, with temperatures in the lower 80s and a nice tropical southeast wind flow. The beaches were packed not only with our northern Snow Birds, but just as many locals taking in the March like weather. It really has been very warm this winter with several high temperature record breaking days already logged. I guess we can thank the current weak El Nino for this fine January so far.

This is going to change later this week with a series of cold fronts to dive through the state, only to bring us to near or just below our normal temperatures. We could really use some rain as well, and my waterway in the back of my home here proves it. It’s about 3 feet below its normal level and when I power on the sprinkler system, not only do I get water, but also mud. It’s really dry and we are going to have issues with brush fires once spring rolls around if we don’t get some good rains soon.

I’m on the road today for several things, and also will be in the West Palm Beach area. If I come across anything worth posting, you’ll see it here during the day. Enjoy the start to the week and the last full week of January.
