Impressive Tornadic Supercell now moving through central eastern Kansas and getting ready to cross over into Missouri. Several large tornadoes have been reported this evening from Storm Chasers, including a wedge tornado. Currently as I type this, Chasers are still reporting a large and violent tornado on the ground in Anderson, County, Kansas. The tornado threat will continue into the overnight hours and well into tomorrow, where the next event is setting up.
Thursday, a widespread severe weather outbreak is expected from upper and lower Mississippi Valley, the Deep South and the eastern Plains.
Will continue to watch the Supercells over the eastern Plains tonight and review things for tomorrows severe weather. Awaiting reports from Chasers on this evenings tornadoes.
Update 9:43pm ET:
My god this is one very impressive long track Tornadic Supercell. The nexrad radar presentation of the massive hook echo is just about text book perfect. It’s one of the most impressive I have seen in a while. I really hope this storm stays over open land. This storm has already prodcued severe damage to several home and hope no one is hurt or has been killed. Storm Chasers reported a large wedge at one point with this storm. The Tornadic Supercell continues to remain strong with a well developed hook echo, and is now well into Missouri.
