Bow Echo Gulf, Dust Devil Fun Again Today

Impressive Mesoscale Convective System moving off the of the southeastern Texas Coast early this morning. Wild looking bow echo signature on radar blasting out into the Gulf of Mexico, where I’m sure some strong damaging winds were likely encountered if you were out on a boat in that. At one point in the radar animation, the bow echo had a nice rotating head. A nice punch of winds behind that line for sure, and it’s now moving eastward south of the Louisiana coast. More severe weather is possible today along the northern Gulf coast as the upper-level system that has brought all the storms to southern Texas the last few days, shifts eastward today.
As for me today, I’m back at again today in search of more Dust Devils as seen in my Monday and Tuesday posts. Expecting another very warm day here, and it continues to be very dry, so the Dust Devil conditions remain well in place. I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday and that we are also moving into the middle of March. Before you know it the rainy season will return here and I won’t be chasing Dust Devils in sugarcane fields. I do have a chance of some thunderstorms here on Thursday and Friday, so I might actually here some thunder and maybe see some lightning.
I’ll keep you updated later today on my Dust Devil search….
Update: 4:24pm ET:
Today’s MCS in the Gulf helped with pushing high level debris clouds into the area and keeping temperatures down. Also the winds today were a tad to breezy, so the Dust Devil search was blah! I did get some time lapse stuff in, and at least I feel I came away with something today. Now it’s time to snack!
