Radar Tornadic SupercellsSeveral weather watches ongoing at this time, including two Tornado Watches that cover much of eastern New Mexico, all of Western Texas, including the Panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma. Conditions are coming together much better than first thought early this morning over the area, and already one impressive tornado report coming in from eastern New Mexico in the town of Logan, located in Quay County. There were several homes demolished and a church with it’s roof torn off. Injuries have been reported, but little details as of yet. Large hail has also been reported in many locations throughout the day as well, and will likely continue into the night.

Elsewhere, Isolated Supercells are now developing from southeast New Mexico, to the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles. A few showing some nice radar presentations at this time. More widespread storms expected later this evening into the overnight hours. There is a real impressive possible Tornadic Supercell moving northeast just west of the Texas - New Mexico border, northwest of Hobbs, NM. Nice hook echo and flying eagle signature. I sure hope some Chasers are on this storm.

Speaking of Chasers, still hunting down who’s out on the road and where. Some of these cells are in some pretty remote, wide open area’s of the Southern High Plains, and sometimes cell coverage is minimal. Once I hear anything, I’ll pass it along here with another update. For now continuing to monitoring the radar loops, satellite imagery, and my day dreaming of being out there today, instead of sitting here in South Florida where it’s warm, breezy and dry with no chances of any storms in sight. This would have been a good weekend for one of those, up and go flights to the target area, to kick in a little SDS relief. Is it May yet?
