Two area’s this afternoon with ongoing severe weather, including large hail, damaging winds, and a few isolated weak tornadoes so far. In West Texas, near the city of Lubbock, TX, there has been several reports of short-lived landspouts / weak tornadoes just east of town. I know of a few Chasers that live in Lubbock and I’m awaiting to see if they captured any of these events today. Very large hail and a tornado on the ground report by local police in the town of Tulia, Texas. The tornado was 10 miles west of interstate 27 and moving north.

Elsewhere, up in the upper-Midwest there are developing severe storms at this time in Wisconsin, where a few isolated cells are gathering strength ahead of a line of storm further west near the WI / MN border. There is currently a tornado watch posted for this area as possible Tornadic Supercells could become more active over the next several hours. A new tornado watch has just been issued for northeast Wisconsin as these isolated cells will be moving into this new weather watch area. Wind shear looks to be very impressive for tornadoes, but only during the next few hours. Later this evening the whole area of storms should develop into a potent squall line.

Keeping an eye on all the active severe weather area’s on this very boring Sunday evening here in South Florida.
