This has been a pretty slow and boring March, at least for me and the weather. Florida has had no good storm setups in months, and we can’t even get some decent rain to help the drought. The only good thing lately here is the warm weather has returned and looks to stay through until fall. The cold fronts are having a harder time making it this far south now as we near April. Spring is in full swing here and the weather has been excellent if you’re here on Spring Break. Kersten and I were down on the beach the other night after dinner and I noticed how much the ocean waters are starting to warm back up. Before you know it, we’ll have 84F sea surface temperatures and developing Tropical Storms and Hurricanes.

Now that I can see the Florida early spring severe storm window is closing, I’m getting more excited about chasing in the Plains this late Spring. After reading and viewing the tornado video out of New Mexico, and seeing all the storm reports from like Clovis and Logan, New Mexico, Lubbock, Texas and the funnel cloud video all day today on CNN, I’m ready! I’m over this boring slow weather pattern and really need something to chase.

Looks like some isolated severe weather still possible over the south-central U.S. over the next few days. Will be monitoring like always when I have nothing else on my plate weather-wise. I will be in Miami later this morning, and think I’ll head over to Miami Beach for lunch on this awesome warm breezy day. A nice lunch on a beach café sounds like a good plan for the day, plus I can shoot some stock video with all the Spring Breakers and the several events going on.

I really wish things would pick up soon in the weather department, so I can return to documenting “storms” and not having to chit-chat about weather fluff. Cranky Chaser!
