Tornado damage survey teams are heading out this afternoon from Texas to Nebraska, surveying tornado damage paths from yesterdays impressive tornado outbreak. The National Weather Service, in locations that were affected by tornadoes have sent their tornado damage survey teams out today to rate Enhanced-Fscale some of the tornadoes tracks. I know after speaking with some Storm Chasers last night and this morning, some of these tornadoes were long-tracked cyclic tornadoes and were on the ground over 30-40 miles in some locations. The Silverton, Texas tornado and Supercell, had tornadoes on the ground for over a hour and half, and up in west and northwest Kansas, there were two different large wedge tornadoes a half mile wide, that tracked over 30 miles or so on the ground from Chaser reports.
It will likely take several days to survey all the noticeable tornado tracks from yesterday impressive and historic tornado outbreak for March, 28 2007. Storm Chasers were greeted to a series of tornadic Supercell thunderstorms up and down the dryline, giving a high tornado opening to the Plains 2007 storm chasing season. Some Chasers filmed up to six different tornadoes, ranging from stove pipes, to white cones, and a few ½ mile wide wedges. The videos and photography of yesterday storms is outstanding, and likely one of the most document tornado events in several years.
Here are some Tornado Outbreak March 28, 2007 Video and Photo Links to some of the Chasers scenes on the event.

These are just a small sample of what was captured yesterday. I’ll add more to this page as they publish more pages to link to covering the tornado outbreak 3/28/07.

Max Mayfield is joining the WPLG station. What a great opportunity for South Florida to keep this man around!
As for all the videos….I am more scared of a tornado than a hurricane. Enjoy all the storms
Wow.. thats new to me. Yeah it would be nice to have Max still around for the hurricane season.
Beautiful storms…but it in a chilling way. Been watching the video as it floods in over the networks today. our hearts and prayers go out to those affected. Already people are asking why wasn’t the warnings sooner. Jeff, you already covered that in a past blog. There is no way this could have snuck up on people. I am very curious to see if this is a precurser of what is in store for the south this year and in store for Florida concerning hurricane season. Any connection with a busy chase season out west and a busy hurrcane season Jeff?
Rick
Don’t think so, but all the ridging ongoing in Florida has me wondering. TGIF.
