Florida lightning photoWill we every see scenes like the one in this lightning photograph? I’m mean after last years dull and well below normal thunderstorm season here in Florida, and then this past winters long dry weather, I’m a bit worried. I feel like I have not see a normal Florida thunderstorm season since 2004 really. It’s April now, well almost mid April and it’s currently 52F outside early this morning. What’s up with that? I say to mother nature we kick in the rainy season early here, not only for me and my need of daily stuff to shoot and enjoy, but to help this awful drought that’s keeping me also from planting in my yard.

Maybe seeing scenes like the one in this post is not wise yet. Any lightning storms are just going to start brush fires with all the dry brush. We do need the rain and these flush cold fronts only dry out the atmosphere once again making it hard to get moisture back over the area in time for the next front. Current Pwat 0.89 Ugh!

The current overall weather pattern over the nation is uneventful and not much to discuss today. We should be talking about severe weather, Supercells, Tornadoes, and Storm Chasers bagging tubes on early severe weather setups. Instead were talking about Easter with snow falling over the Midwest and Northeast, chilly temperatures into Miami and drought over Florida. This has to be the hardest winter and early spring for me to deal with weather-wise. When will it change?

It’s Monday, and nothing to shoot today for weather, unless your into drought coverage. Think I’ll spend some time today watching some old chasing DVDs to help boost me out of my lack of real weather blues. SDS hitting hard today….
