Things are shaping up for a severe weather event over the Southern High Plains and Central Plains on Saturday. The SPC currently has a Day2 Moderate Risk outlook for these area’s concerning large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes. There might be some moisture return issues, but things look like they will still coming together for some mid April Storm Chasing on the Plains. Being it’s a weekend, there will likely be more Storm Chaser out this weekend giving it a go at it. Expected the dryline boundary to be busy on the ground with Chasers.
The severe weather chances look to continue into next week over parts of the Plains, as we moving into a more active weather pattern. I will look into tomorrows setup and next weeks later tonight and expect some storm coverage here for tomorrow.
As for today, there is a chance of a few isolated Supercells and some large hail in the Northern Plains, as a disturbance moves into the area. I’ll be monitoring later this afternoon.
