Tornadoes of April 21, 2007Tornadic Supercell thunderstorms are ongoing at this time in western Texas and Panhandle. Storm Chaser reports are just starting to come in of active tornadoes on the ground at this time. One report near Channing, Texas of a large white cone tornado being documented as it first developed and then became rained wrapped. There are several tornado warned cells from the National Weather Service office active at this moment.

Storm Chasers are trying to capture as much as possible as the sun is setting soon on the west Texas Caprock. Soon they will be chasing these Supercells into the dark over the High Plains, which is one of the best places to chase at night, if you dare! I have done my share of night chasing out on the High Plains and sometimes it’s awesome.

Also of note: Looks like tornado warning text data is delayed and not getting published out in time at the normal website locations. And to make matters worst, AMA and LLB radar sites look to be lagged or not updating at this time. This is not a good time to be having data dropouts or downed pipelines of information.

More updates to come later this evening.

Tulia, Texas is a city in Swisher County and looks to have taken a very bad strike from a damaging tornado tonight. Reports from Storm Chasers that it developed near town and went through much the town with major damage. Details are still coming in from the area and awaiting more news from Chasers on this storm.
