Space Shuttle Endeavour Launch Video August 8, 2007 Florida

The launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour yesterday was outstanding like always. The sky was very hazy much of the day and at launch time, making the view of Endeavour a little cloudy looking from our view along the Banana River causeway bridge. The current high pressure ridging over the Southeast United States that’s been helping to produce the record hot temperatures, was also helping to cap the atmosphere holding in hazy and smog making the normal deep blue Florida skies blah.

Space Shuttle Endeavour blasted off over Cape Canaveral roaring into the sky as 10s of thousands cheered on from all around the Cape. The amount of tourists and residents out to see the launch were amazing. The grid lock traffic jams after the launch kept us there for over an hour. It’s a great American moment when you watch our Space Shuttle, with our men and women blast off with the thundering roar into the sky as thousands clap, scream and cheer it on.

We ended our great evening with dinner on Coco Beach at Uno’s Chicago Grill and then with a walk on the boardwalk around Ron Jons Surf Shop. Kersten, JJ and I had a great day and look forward to the next launch of STS-120 Space Shuttle Discovery, which looks to be around October 20, 2007, pending any issues.
