Cool and Dry Florida Continues This Weekend

It has been very cool and dry the last week now, with some below normal temperatures for this time of year, especially for South Florida. The reinforcing cold fronts one after another have kept things pretty dry for us, and you can see it already in Lake Okeechobee water levels as they are beginning to fall once again. The northerly wind flow that has been in place for almost a week, look to continue through the holiday weekend. Next week winds finally veer northeasterly, bring a more marine onshore flow warming us up and bringing some dew points back into the picture. Model forecast are not showing any good signs of precipitation anytime soon, so expect dryness to continue and drought conditions to increase slowly.

Playing Catch Up Today After Net Down Time

More to come this weekend on the current ongoing drought over Florida and the Southern states. Just to note, yesterday I had several hours of down internet connection time off and on, and never got around to getting a post up. I have many emails and web updates to get to today, so if your awaiting a reply from me, it’s coming shortly. Thanks….
