Florida Chilly Air Over Warm Glades Waters, Steam Fog

Everglades Cold Air and Warm Waters
The last few mornings it has been pretty chilly over interior locations of central and southern Florida. The upper 40’s to lower 50’s temperatures, and the warmer waters of the Glades and canals, makes for some interesting steam fog over the water. It’s very cool to watch the light wind flow over the water within the steam, and every once in a while, a short-lived little vortex of steam would travel across the water surface. I would cheer it on, Rotate! Rotate!
I played around with some video scenes and digital pictures for about an hour, while the sunrise angle was still low in the sky. I thought about shooting a time lapse, but I didn’t have the time to sit there over a few hours, plus I wanted some clouds of some time in the shot to reflect off the water with the steam. I’m sure I’ll get a few more opportunities before the waters become to chilly for steam later this winter.
