Very Warm Weekend & Week Ahead For Florida

It might be December, but here in Central and Southern Florida it’s been feeling more like late September early October. The warm weather today is outstanding for a late fall weekend in early December. This is the type of weather we love here, as it’s not too warm with mild humidity, and not too cold at night with nice cool breeze’s off the ocean. The National Weather Service in Miami, was talking about possible record high low temperatures along the Southeast Florida coast the next few nights.

LOW TEMPS OVER THE NEXT FEW NIGHTS COULD REACH THE WARMEST MINS ON RECORD FOR THE DATE ALONG THE ATLANTIC COAST. IN FACT…AM FORECASTING A LOW OF 75 AT FLL AND 74 AT MIA TONIGHT. THIS WOULD BREAK THE WARMEST MIN RECORD AT FLL AND TIE IT AT MIA. TOMORROW NIGHT WILL BE NEAR RECORDS AS WELL.

It’s shaping up to be a warm December so far after a cooler November here in Florida. There are no gripes from me on this, as I am loving this warm weather. A high pressure ridge is to remain in place through the rest of the weekend and into much of the upcoming week. The next shot of cooler fall-like weather won’t been seen until next weekend. Actually, some of the computer models want to bring some much deeper moisture in from the Atlantic by mid-week from a tropical wave. That would be nice, plus maybe we can squeeze out a thunderstorm or too, if we can get some decent moisture and some convergence to take place. Any heavy rain is very needed now that were well into the dry season, and water levels remain low, and the drought index is on the rise once again in many Florida locations.

Holiday Season Fun

Tonight J.J. is going to be in the local Christmas Parade with his fellow Cub Scouts, so Kersten and I will be walking with him as he hands out candy canes. I’ll likely being shooting video and stills, and hope to post a few over the weekend here. One things for sure, it’s going a warm evening, so I’ll be walking in shorts and a T-shirt.
