I Have Made It Through The Worst Of My Winter Weather Blues

Another chilly Florida night last night, but I stayed warm diving deep into the forecast computer models looking over data for the next severe weather setup, and also unpacking a lot of my Storm Chasing hardware toys for my vehicle. It‘s March, and the 2008 Spring Storm Chase season in knocking on the door, and looks to possibly open with a another severe weather event after the weekend over the South. Time to get out my WxWorx system and get ready to activate it for the spring months, and dust off all the hardware, including other HAM radios, Jotto Desk, laptops and GPS. I have put the whole day aside to clean camera hardware, run cables in the car, and test out some new gear. It will reach the upper 70’s this afternoon, so it’s going to be nice to work in the driveway preparing for the 2008 chase season.

Severe Weather Deep South Sunday Through Tuesday

The next severe weather setup will begin to come together starting tomorrow in central and eastern Texas. Then on Monday, the whole system shifts east into the Mississippi Valley and then into the Southeast states on Tuesday. I’m still interested in this system up near Alabama, but I’m still watching the model trends to make my final decision on a trip up with some fellow Chasers. I’ll have more on this tomorrow as things come into view better, and we get a feel of the return flow. So, I’m off to have some fun outside.
