Cold Late March Florida Morning - Is It Over Yet?
I hate to show a cold weather map like this one in late March for here in Florida. I’m sure all the Spring Breakers are not happy about the current weather here as well, and with the forecast the next day or so. I was up at 5:00am to see 45.8F on the weather station and a chilly north wind blowing on the office window. Some real decent cold air advection overnight has much of Florida in the 40’s this morning, with colder temps over central and northern regions of the state. Ok now, I thought we put a end to all this cold weather, lets get back to spring please. Last week we broke 90F with record temps, and we’ll be lucky to reach 70F today seeing temps 10-15 below climatology normal’s. What the heck! LOL
Anyways, another chilly night in store tonight with a ridge setting in for 24 hours, and helping to calm the winds, so under clear skies and light winds, prime radiational cooling will be setting up and the temperatures will drop once again into the lower to mid 40s. Tomorrow our winds will shift onshore from the Atlantic and modify the temps and dew point moisture, and we’ll begin to feel like Florida again for late March. Hang in there all you warm seeking spring breakers, the beach parties will continue this weekend.
As for me today, think I’ll hang inside the office and work on getting some of last weeks rough surf and beach erosion video online. I’m having some warm coffee now and ready to dive into some video editing. Have a great Tuesday!

No kidding… BRRRR!!!!
Hey, Jeff. I am still asking myself whether it is really late March or late December and we just had some sort of time warp.
Anyways, I was just letting you know that I recently changed host of the blog to Wordpress. The new link is http://daweathamanroop.wordpress.com/.
Always frustrating to see these cold air outbreaks this time of year. Hopefully this will be the last one, but the GFS seems to want to dive one south the first week of April. Hoping it’s wrong - I want to start getting outside again.
I hear ya Dan! It is frustrating, and this time of year were all so ready to hit the road, we’ll about chase anything. Hang in there…won’t be long…I hope. LOL
