Heading South & Hoping For Some Thunderstorms

Oh Yeah! Some General Thunderstorms This Weekend
I’m actually happy to say that there are some isolated general thunderstorms in the forecast for this weekend, especially on Sunday. The best chances look to be south of Big Lake O, as better moisture is expected to filter into the region from the south. Light wind fields will allow some sea breeze circulations to develop, helping with some afternoon convergence over the interior locations of South Florida.
I’ll be on the road for the weekend in far southern Florida, so I’m hoping I might get a opportunity to come across one of these bird-fart storms and maybe do some time lapse video scenes over the Everglades. Not expecting any severe weather, just general spot showers and storms that normally sustain themselves for about hour. Sounds like fun to me!
Have a great weekend, and I’ll keep you posted if I come across any convective thunderstorm action over the Southern Florida peninsula this weekend.
