Severe Weather Ready To Show Off In The Plains

SPC Day 2 Severe Weather Outlook MapThe Southern and Central Plains states into the Mississippi valley, look to be under the gun for a few days of severe storms. A strong mid and upper level trough with a developing surface low over the southern High Plains, will set the stage for widespread severe weather. Tomorrow and Thursday, looks to be the most active with damaging winds and tornadoes from northern Texas into Southern Oklahoma. Then it will all shift overnight into Arkansas and the lower Mississippi valley region.

  • My fellow chase partner Chris Collura is flying out of South Florida today for this severe weather setup. I’ll be keeping tabs on his 3 day storm seek expedition here.

Storm Chasers will likely be roaming the Texas and Oklahoma roads tomorrow in search of rotating organized convection. I wish I was out there for tomorrows setup, but unfortunately, still have business obligations here this month, so any Plains chasing for me will have to wait until May most likely. However, I’ll be arm chasing this event and will be posting updates here from any word from fellow Chasers out there trying to intercept severe storms.

Catch Up Day with Video and Time Lapse Edit’s

Now that the Florida weather has become stable, with light northeasterly winds off the Atlantic, after over a week of thunderstorms and Chaseable weather, I can catch up on video work. I have many time lapse storm video scenes to clean up, plus go through everything I have shot over the last week. I have two stock video requests that I must process and get out today, one being hurricane footage from 1998 Hurricane Georges and the other of Florida wildfires. So, going to finish my coffee and biscuit and turn on some music and get to work. Have a great day!
